Holiday | Torbay - Broadsands

Monday 5th August

the sea from our room!

A Seal!

Nothing beats a proper British seaside holiday, right? Certainly not for us! So our big summer holiday this year was in Torquay, Devon in the most wonderfully old-fashioned hotel (full of coach tours of course) with very much all the Clarkes. We had last visited when Ted was just months old and were so looking forward to spending much longer down here but with a to-do list as long as our arms we could have easily spent the whole summer exploring South Devon.

Having travelled down the day before, we'd spent the evening in the hotel playing Bingo and listening to the entertainment and woke up fresh on Monday morning ready to hit the beach! We opted for nearby Broad Sands which was pretty quiet considering the perfect weather and were happily sat eating ice creams on the beach by 10am. By early afternoon though, we needed to collect Uncle Andy and Aunty Becca from the station and then spent the rest of the day in the outdoor pool at the hotel before hitting the arcades in Torquay (and winning a very special dumbo)
