Holiday | Torbay - Babbacombe

Thursday 8th August

And it finally felt like a West Country holiday on Thursday when the rain hit - Although I'm sure we spent plenty of time in the sunshine, I distinctly remember my Cornish holidays during my childhood being quite wet! But the weather wasn't going to stop us having fun. After taking Ted to the train, we'd ear-marked the model village for Ivy as Bekonscot is one of her favourite ever places but this was a Model Village and a half with so many clever displays I could have easily walked around 3 or 4 times (and still spotted something new each time!) had it not been pouring. Whilst we were in Babbacombe, we also stopped by the Cliff Railway, which again, even in the rain, was such a special little activity to do and had a cafe so good we managed to eat there twice.

The following days weather was even worse so after braving it to Torquay harbour to pick up postcards and fudge, we spent our final day all together at the hotel enjoying our time with Michael's family and playing games. Holidays have not always going particularly smoothly for us (mainly due to various health reasons) but this week we spent in Torquay is one I will never ever forget. Packed full of fun and family time but most importantly it was just filled with happiness, it truly couldn't have been more perfect and was exactly what we all needed.
