This is easily the most special place I have featured in our Park Life series. I have struggled to find adventure playgrounds like I once did in Oxfordshire as I didn't Herts liked to embrace the open-ended wooden structures but we don't need to search anymore as we have finally found a park we can return to again and again. We hadn't even visited Aldenham County Park until a couple of weeks ago (see here) but I had to bring Ivy back asap and we opted to test the playground first. Designed with children with sensory needs in mind, this incredible area is suited to children with all kinds of additional needs, something we have often struggled with in parks with Ivy. We were lucky enough to have the place all to ourselves and it was safe enough to leave one child to wander whilst spending quality time with the other. Ivy rode a zipline without total fear for the first time in her life, Ted got himself soaked in the water sensory and we all sat and built sandcastles together just as happily as we would have been on holiday! A true treasure.
