Holiday | Center Parcs Longleat Forest

23rd - 27th December

Christmas Day

Boxing Day

It was back last January we took the plunge and booked a Center Parcs christmas and in the blink of an eye (well, kind of) we were heading to Longleat Forest for a very well deserved festive family break. It never ceases to amaze me how easy Center Parcs holidays are (see our visit in April here) and despite it being one of the most stressful times of the year, being under endless tree canopies with the people I love the most brought the exact calm I was craving after 3 months of constant hospitals.

We spent Christmas eve swimming, wandering around the forest (and then into a bar, oops) and creating that all important Christmas magic with Ivy seeing the reindeer before they headed off on their travels, leaving out Santa's snacks before creeping out for a nice meal alone only to come back to an excited little monkey who was still awake. For the big day itself, we grabbed a Starbucks after stockings and let someone else cook up the hard work with a long and lengthy lunch at Cafe Rouge in the Plaza and spent arguably the best day of the year - Boxing Day - doing sport and watching sport followed by fireworks and a good old buffet at our lodge.

It's amazing how you can capture all those Christmas comforts without being at home and we certainly had one of the most memorable and magical Christmas's ever - I cannot wait to do it all again next year with both my gorgoeus babies
